Getting to know me.

Greetings and Salutations

Introductions are needed…

I love creating new things. Even creating this website is enjoyable as I learn new things to do. I hope to get this site up and running so you can see the many objects I create with leather. I make everything from purses, bags, and belt pouches to gun holsters, knife sheaths and bracelets. I have a Celtic background so you will see that some on my works reflect that. If you have a project you would like made, just ask and I can give you a quote.

I got into leather working with a goal in mind; to make a suit of leather armor. However, what I lacked was knowledge. The more I investigated, the more I learned about tooling, molding, assembly, and carving leather. I have made a few pieces along the way, but I continue to grow and acquire more skills. Ultimately, I will make a full suit of leather armor from head to toe. I just want the right time to use my knowledge and skills to their maximum limit.

I do normal work a job as a Certified Veterinary Technician so I run my leather working as a hobby on the weekends and on my days off. It does not leave me much time to dawdle when I have a project due. Most projects take me a few days to a few weeks to complete. While I do all of my stitching by hand, my ultimate goal is to someday get a leather sewing machine. That would save me a ton of time with my projects but they do cost $5000 for a good machine. From there, my next goal would be a laser cutter but then that’s another $4800 for that machine.

So for now, I do everything by hand but ultimately I would like to do my leather working full time. I have a ton of tools I have collected over the years and can complete most projects I have in mind. Perhaps with time, I’ll get my machines and be able to do this full time in a few years.
